General Information
As all cakes are made to order a minimum notice period is required.
Cupcakes - Minimum of 2 working days notice is required although 1 weeks notice preferred.
For large orders i.e. 50 plus Cupcakes a minimum of 2 weeks notice is required.
Bespoke designs may require a longer notice period.
Mini Fondant Iced Cakes require 3 working days notice.
Gift Boxed Mini Fondant Iced Cakes require a minimum of 2 weeks notice.
Celebration, Birthday, Novelty 2D, Novelty 3D Sculpted Cakes all require a minimum of 2 weeks notice.
NB: If your order is large or for a special occasion you are advised to order as soon as possible
to avoid disapointment. All bookings are confirmed when deposit has been paid.
Allergen Information: The majority of cakes contain eggs, butter and flour and are prepared on premises where nuts
are kept so are not suitable for people with allergies to these items.
Consultation dates will only be confirmed once deposit payment has been received. If a consultation date has been given prior to deposit payment then this can be cancelled at any point by Kays Cakes if deposit payment has not been received.
Delivery Information
Free delivery on all orders within our delivery area, please see delivery page,, alternatively cakes can be collected by arrangement.
We do not deliver to London due to the additional charges involved. We reserve the right to refuse delivery, this will be stated before an order is accepted.
Cancellations and Returns: If you need to cancel your order you must do so by email. Phonecall cancellations will not be accepted, written confirmation is required.
Cancellations are not accepted on any order booked within 2 days of goods being required.
Celebration Cakes, Novelty, Wedding and Birthday Cakes including orders for bespoke designs must be cancelled no later than 14 days before the event to obtain a partial refund, refund excludes initial deposit amount which is non-refundable..
Due to the nature of the goods (edible) returns are not accepted unless the incorrect product has been supplied. We require photographic proof of goods to be emailed upon immediate receipt of goods received. If no proof is emailed then no refund will be provided.
If goods are found to be incorrect, goods must be returned to us within 24hrs.
Payment Terms
All orders will require a 50% deposit.
Deposits must be paid on order being placed, or immediately if order is placed with less than 2 weeks notice.
If the required date of the event is less than 2 weeks then full payment will be required.
Deposits and full payments (full payment made less than 2 weeks notice) are non refundable.
Until the balance of payment has been made the cake/s remain the property of Kays Cakes.
The balance of payment due is required 2 weeks prior to event for all cupcakes/cakes, this excludes wedding cakes.
Payment can be made by cash by prior agreement at time of quote acceptance or by card via PayPal.
Wedding Cakes require final payment 3 weeks prior to event.
When a delivery has been requested outside of our free delivery area, any deposit payments that have been taken will havea delivery cost included at 50%, this will be non refundable if later cancelled or changed as that date would have have been reserved.
All payments due will have an invoice issued to the email address supplied at time of enquiry, we may follow up requesting an email address that is current and in use.
When changing the date of a Wedding or Celebration, Kays Cakes request consultation before a change. If Kays Cakes cannot accommodate the change, 50% of the deposit will be refundable.
Stand Hire
Acrylic 4 tier cupcake & top cake stand hire charge £15.00 non refundable payment. Holding deposit of £50.00 required for a weekend (sat & sun hire). Deposit is refundable on return of stand in the condition it was placed at venue (clean, undamaged). Late return fee: £15 per day.
Metal stands hire charge £25.00 non refundable payment. Holding deposit of £50.00 required for a weekend (sat & sun hire). Deposit is refundable on return of stand in the condition it was placed at venue (clean, undamaged). Late return fee: £25 per day.
Late return fees will be deducted from Holding deposit and any balance will be invoiced.
Additional
Kays Cakes reserves the right to update their terms at anytime, when the terms are updated they will apply to all quotes and orders already placed with Kays Cakes. By submitting a request or paying your first invoice you are agreeing to these terms.
